Discover is the default Software Center for KDE neon. It can be found by going to the applications menu and then to Applications/System.

Using Discover is easy. You can search for an application on the left or browse through categories if you don't know the name. At the bottom left of the window is your list of,

  • Installed Applications
  • Software Sources
  • About
  • Updates

There is one important difference between Discover and other Ubuntu package managers in Neon. Discover uses the pkcon (Package Kit console client) as its backend so where other Ubuntu will work on Neon you will find that package conflicts will not be resolved as easily.

It is not intended to be a replacement for the command line but to instead allow users who are unable to use the command line to install and uninstall packages in a GUI.
